It’s Halloween, and we’re busy decorating and doing our normal Saturday crazy catch-up routine. If you still need ideas for a costume, try J. Money’s list of 40 cheap and last minute Halloween costumes.
Here are just some of the great stuff I read this week:
- Get Rich Slowly: JD shares the story of his friend “Mike,” to illustrate in marriage and money we should tackle trouble before it begins. I wish we had talked more about money when we were newlyweds.
- Well Heeled Blog shares how to practice safe credit card use.
- Carrie actually shares her experience using iTunes in place of cable and purchasing CDs. Looks like she spends a fair amount on entertainment, but she is buying her entertainment a la carte, which is always cheaper.
- Paul from FiscalGeek talks about personal responsibility in personal finance. Yes, we all know credit card companies suck, but ultimately we are responsible for how we use our credit cards. This one really hit home.
- Head over to Man Vs. Debt and read all 5 of the guest posts that went up this week, they are all fantastic!
- Check out my staff post on Moolanomy, a guide to Open Enrollment.
- For a great listen this week, check out the Personal Finance Hour, where yours truly called in. JD and Jim covered budgeting, and I called in to talk about budgeting for non-monthly or atypical expenses.
Don’t forget to enter the giveaways I have going on right now!
- Hard Drive (ends Saturday)
- $50 Genuardi’s gift card (ends Sunday)
- 250 business cards (ends Monday)
