If you are looking for a last-minute Easter craft to keep little fingers busy this weekend, especially if you are entertaining, then these paper roll bunnies are perfect.
Older children will be able to cut out all of the parts for these bunnies on their own, but for little ones, pre-cut all of the parts so they can just be glued on.
What you need:
- Paper rolls
- Scrapbook paper and card stock - scraps are great, and use a variety of patterns and colors
- Googly eyes
- Plastic lace - or any string that is fairly stiff
- Glue stick
- Double-sided tape (optional)
- Black Sharpie
Step 1:
Either place a strip of double-sided tape or a line of glue down the paper roll from top to bottom. Wrap a piece of scrapbook paper around - you can either pre-cut it to the correct size or trim off the excess later, which is what I tend to do so that I can ensure I don’t cut it a little too small to begin with. Place another strip of glue or double-sided tape on top of where you began wrapping the paper and continue wrapping until the paper roll is completely covered. Trim off any excess.
Step 2:
Now you are going to cut out the ears. Sketch an ear onto a scrap of paper and then use that as a template for all of the others. You will need ears in two sizes, small and large.
Attach the small ear onto the large one using glue, and then attach the ears to the inside of the paper roll.
Step 3:
Draw two circle on top of each other onto a piece of paper and cut them out as one piece (don’t divide them in half) and attach to the paper roll for the face. Glue googly eyes above this, and then using the Sharpie sketch on a nose. Cut small strips of plastic lace and glue them into place too.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your families.
