Gluten Free Bar {Review + Giveaway}

I’ve been gluten-free for several years now. It’s something that started as a result of some health issues I was having (exhaustion, foggy brain, etc.). We couldn’t find anything that caused the issues I was experiencing. Having been down that road as a teen (with chronic fatigue syndrome) I knew the drill. We did lots of bloodwork to rule out things like Lyme disease, thyroid issues, and allergies. Vitamin deficiencies (B12 + D-which are fairly common in women) were solved but my symptoms persisted. The only thing I could figure out was that I felt better when I wasn’t eating gluten. So I stopped. And I haven’t looked back.

Being gluten-free is SO simple now thanks to it becoming a a ‘fad’ for many folks. I can easily find gluten-free items on most menus when I eat out and the grocery store is chock full of options for gluten-free folks.

While I tend to avoid too many substitutes because nothing beats fresh and real food there are times when having something on the go is essential. When I’m traveling or just running all day between work, kids, and errands I often need a quick bite to eat.

That’s were bars come in for me. I keep a stock of bars in our pantry cabinet and a few in key places like my purse and my suitcase when I travel.

Gluten Free Bars

My new go-to bar was sent to me by the folks at Gluten Free Bar. That’s right-it’s literally called that! Gluten Free Bars are so good though you don’t have to be gluten free to enjoy them. They are also vegan, non GMO, certified kosher, and soy-free! Many are free from other common allergens.

The reason these are my new go to is because of their protein packed punch. Using their protein blend (brown rice protein, pea protein) makes these bars give me a boost that last until my next meal.

My new favorite is the dark chocolate coconut bar. It’s two of my favorite flavors together, and it feels like a treat even though it’s actually good for me!

    I love these too, also because they aren’t overloaded with whey protein like most gluten-free bars. They are yummy too. My fave is the oatmeal raisin.
