One of the perks of being asked to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration was that we were treated to a poolside buffet and tour of part of the new Art of Animation Resort.
What is the Art of Animation Resort?
This brand new value resort at Walt Disney World features characters from you and your children’s favorite Disney movies. While we got a sneak peak at the Nemo themed rooms (and trust me the details are amazing), there will also be rooms and play areas dedicated to the Lion King, Cars, and the Little Mermaid.
The resort is set to open May 31st with the first Nemo-themed wing and the other areas will follow throughout the 2012 season.
Featuring all the fun of the movies with giant characters and themed amenities throughout the resort young kids will feel like they’ve stepped inside their favorite films.
Considered a ‘value’ resort they are slightly higher in price than a typical value room at $249/night. The difference is in a few details. There is room for 6 in the family suites at this resort (one queen sized bed, one double murphy bed, and a pull out couch), a kitchenette in your room, and 2 bathrooms. I found it especially nice that the one bedroom was set up for parents with a separate TV and bathroom with a shower stall. It’s a nice touch to have a space of your own in what would typically be a small hotel room.
Another bonus this resort will have its’ own bus line separate from the other value resorts which will make the wait to get to your destination a little less than a typical value resort.
Sneak Peek at Art of Animation Resort
While the food (and company) were divine, it was the sneak peek at the latest value resort that had me excited. With the Nemo area being closest to finish that was the area we were able to tour and experience.
I put together a brief video tour of a few spots in the Resort.
Here are some photos of the Art of Animation Resort.
Doesn’t it look amazing? Would you stay at Art of Animation resort?

Disclosure: Disney provided accommodations, conference admission, perks, and park tickets at a steeply discounted rate. All opinions magical or otherwise are my own.
[…] The Art of Animation Resort (also known as AoA) in Walt Disney World is a unique property at Disney. I got to see a sneak peek of the hotel in 2012 prior to its’ opening and was amazed I always am at Disney World by the level of detail. You can read my thoughts on that sneak peek here. […]
