Today I’m 40.
I remember thinking how old that was when I was younger. I remember thinking I’d have it allll figured out by 40. I’d be successful and happy and have anything I wanted.
Fortunately, I’ve learned over the years that I will never ever have it all figured out. Figuring it all out is overrated.
Today I reflected on my life and realized by my own barometer of success, happiness, and needs I have everything I need and then some.
My life is full of amazing people who are incredibly kind, smart, and kick a$$ at life in a multitude of ways. I’m raising 4 complicated, amazing people. We have the BEST dog in the world who provides us all with unconditional love and therapy whenever we need it (he’s an amazing listener) I have the most incredibly supportive and loving partner I could ever imagine for this crazy ride called life who I fall in love with more every day. We live in our dream house in a place I am smitten with. I have built a career that allows me to put my family first while still providing for our family’s life and future. I’m so grateful.
I have so much more I want to do in this world, but as to what’s next we’ll see. I’m still figuring it out. 😉
