The Super Bowl and food go together like peanut butter and jelly. Whether you’re a fan of the Broncos, the Seahawks, or the commercials I put together a simple menu that you can make for family and friends to enjoy the big day. We serve meals on Game Day as a big buffet so everyone can graze all game long.
Mains:
Honey Barbecue Chicken Wings— you can’t go wrong with wings for football!
Mini burgers (aka sliders)-you can make mini-buns out of Udi’s Gluten Free bread or serve them up on lettuce wraps!
Sides:
- Fruit Salad
- Simple Green Salad (romaine and shredded carrots always does the trick),
- Celery and Carrot Sticks
- Easy Guacamole and Tortilla Chips
- Homemade Fries
Drinks:
- Gluten-free Beer
- Homemade Strawberry Lemonade
- Water -to keep your throat hydrated for yelling at the TV
Dessert: Adapt this Chocolate Nest recipe to make football shaped treats and use a little white icing to add the laces. We’re going to try it tomorrow, so we’ll let you know how it turns out!
Shopping List:
- 5 lb bag organic potatoes (preferably russets)
- Peanut Oil or Canola Oil (peanut is better, but if you have allergies canola works too)
- Organic Chicken Wings
- Salt
- Pepper
- Prepared Barbecue sauce or ingredients for your favorite recipe

Food Safety
One thing I’m a stickler about is food safety. For the Super Bowl that means putting out foods before the game starts and then changing what’s out right after half time. Since you shouldn’t leave food out for more than two hours that’s an easy guideline to remember. You don’t want your family or friends to take home a stomachache! With that in mind here are a few tips from foodsafety.gov that will help you have your cake and eat it too…literally!
What are you serving up for the Super Bowl?
