Would you buy a mattress online? I had never considered it until I was contacted by Leesa to review their mattress. They’re a mattress company that makes high quality, American-made mattresses that are only available to buy online. More importantly they are available at an affordable price which I appreciate, and I know you do, too!
We’ve had more than our fair share of mattresses in our homes. Some were complete duds, and most were fine, but not great. Buying online wouldn’t have occurred to me because I’m used to the idea of the mattress store. Not that I enjoy the process.
It’s a lot like buying a car when you go to a mattress store. Comparing models and prices is difficult, the salespeople often press you to purchase then and there, and if you don’t know the terminology they use it can be somewhat confusing when they talk memory foam, coil gauge, or open cell structure.
Buying from Leesa removes all that confusion and the need to test out mattresses in store, always an awkward endeavor. They sell one type of mattress so it’s a simple and quick process to buy. But the best reason to buy? Their 100 day guarantee that allows you to return it within 100 days of your purchase. It makes buying and trying it easy.
Leesa Features:
100 day trial.

Leesa review:
We received a king-sized Leesa mattress last week. It arrives in a large box that’s fairly heavy. We weighed our mattress and it weighed in at nearly 90 pounds! Getting the box inside wasn’t a problem, but when it came to getting it upstairs it took two adults. Thankfully it wasn’t awkward and bulky like a regular king mattress would be and didn’t require weird maneuvers to get it up our somewhat narrow stairwell and into our bedroom.
You can see an unboxing video here. (stay tuned for the grande finale ;))
The Leesa is made from foam, but has three layers of foam including the popular memory foam and a top layer that allows you to remain cool and comfortable all night long. I’ve long loved memory foam style beds (my Mom has one) but they do tend to get hot in the middle of the night and their price is definitely out of my budget! By combining materials the cost goes down and the comfort level goes up. Yes, it’s more comfortable than that popular memory foam brand.
We have needed to replace our mattress for some time, so we were thrilled to get to try out the Leesa. Because our previous base wouldn’t work well for the Leesa we purchased a bed frame from Ikea to support it. The frame is simple and the slats that support to mattress are ideal for the Leesa. It created a foundation for the Leesa to rest comfortably on.
Setup was fairly simple (as you can see in the video), but I was most impressed with the lack of smell. I associate new mattresses with a certain smell and despite my sensitive sniffer I didn’t smell anything when we opened the mattress and sleeping on it that night there was absolutely no odor.
After nearly a week of sleeping on the Leesa I have to say I’m impressed. We have had better and more restful sleep since we received the mattress. It has a very luxurious feel, but isn’t over the top cushy. It’s the perfect mix of firm and soft.
My goal for our bedroom is to create a ‘hotel-like’ atmosphere. You know that clean and comfortable vibe that high-end hotels have? That’s what I want every day. The Leesa mattress reminds me of a high end cushy bed you’d find at a hotel but without the cost!

Disclosure: I received a Leesa mattress for review, all opinions are my own.
So far, so good! It’s been fine with the bed frame and slats on that particular bed frame for us. You mileage may vary. 🙂

Hi Kelly,
I am about to buy a Leesa, and noticed you have the exact same Ikea bed as us. I read on the Leesa website the following, and wondered if you have had any issues with the flexible ikea slates?
Are slats ok to use with my Leesa?
Slats are a great option. Slats should be same width and spaced equidistant from each other, no more than 3″ apart.
Keep in mind that the Leesa should be setup on a flat, rigid surface. Some slats are flexible which can change the way a foam mattress is intended to feel.
It has a 10 year limited warranty, so I would assume at least that long. Most places I’ve checked recommend replacing a mattress every 10 years.
How long does this mattress last?

I like the Leesa better than Casper. Check out my review at http://www.sleepsherpa.com

Nice review!
I have been trying to decide if I want to buy the Leesa or Casper. Both seem pretty good.
Are you still sleeping on your Leesa? Do you still like it?
Thanks for your advice!
