Saving money is important, but doing it in a way that’s simple is even better. No one wants to spend a lot of time to save. We’d rather be baking cookies or attending one of a million holiday activities our families have planned.
When you can save on things you already need and do it easily it’s a huge win. Not only will it give you extra savings, but it will allow you more time-something we all need more of this holiday season.
It’s really easy to save money at one of my favorite stores, CVS Pharmacy. They have all kinds of ways to make saving money on everything from essentials to health needs that are so simple your only regret will be not saving sooner.
CVS ExtraCare for big savings
CVS has a program you may already be aware of called ExtraCare. For those of you who aren’t in the know here’s a breakdown of ExtraCare, but keep reading because I bet there are ways you can save even a CVS pro-shopper may not know.
What is CVS ExtraCare?
I admit it wasn’t that long ago that I was a newbie to this rewards program. I don’t know why I didn’t sign up sooner!
ExtraCare is a rewards program from CVS that allows you to save on purchases, get rewards for filling prescriptions, clip coupons, and more.
You simply sign up then use a card, your phone number, or scan your smartphone with the CVS Pharmacy app to rack up savings and rewards. It’s simple to sign up, and takes less than 5 minutes. You can sign up for CVS ExtraCare here.
Benefits of CVS ExtraCare
Extra Coupons
You can get coupons online and in the app (sign into your account and click “send to card” to automatically add them to your purchases), on your receipt, and you can print out coupons at the ExtraCare Coupon Center in store. Additionally, you can sign up for emails to get additional savings. They even have a CVS Beauty Rewards program for all you beauty lovers. All that adds up to major savings.
Extra Rewards
Earning extra rewards couldn’t be easier. Simply use the ExtraCare program when you checkout and you’ll earn 2% back in ExtraBucks Rewards from everyday purchases. Additionally, you’ll earn $5 ExtraBucks for every 10 prescriptions you fill. Rewards for buying things I already need? Yes, please.
How do you use ExtraBucks?
Now that you have a rewards account you’ve started to ExtraBucks Rewards. Think of them like CVS cash, because you use them like cash when you shop at CVS. Just use your card/app/phone number at checkout to pay for your purchases. Feeling like you won the lottery is optional, but common.

Personalized Savings
You can also sign up for emails from CVS to get personalized offers that are tailored to your shopping habits. This is a great way to get extra savings on what you actually use instead of coupons you’ll never use.
CVS Pharmacy app
The CVS Pharmacy app has a ton of ways to help you save money, too. You can add coupons and search deals on the app where you’ll find extra savings. You can also add your CVS ExtraCare card to your app to make it easier to stack up those rewards.
To get the CVS app simply text APP to 287-277 or go to your app store and search for CVS. The app is available on iOS or Android.
