Are you ready for this week’s roundup? There’s a LOT here to read, watch, deals, and ways to help Nepal earthquake victims. Let’s dig in.
Help
You may have heard that Nepal suffered a devastating earthquake this weekend. Hundreds of people died, thousands more were injured, and the area was devastated. Seeing the destruction makes you want to act even if you’re half a world away. CNN put together an article with ways you can help. Even if you don’t have a ton to donate every dollar helps.

Luther Translates Obama’s Speech
Last night was the White House Correspondents Dinner. There’s always a few gems that come out of the dinner, and last night was no exception. If you aren’t already familiar there’s an amazing comedy duo on Comedy Central called Key and Peele. One of their recurring skits involves President Obama and his anger translator, Luther. Last night President Obama gave a speech and Luther translated. It’s hilarious fun (all politics aside).
Sorry, the video doesn’t seem to be embedding properly-click over to Facebook to see it.

Star Wars Trailer Babies React
Have you watched the new trailer for the next Star Wars movie? It’s a great trailer and we’re SO excited to see it, but watching these babies watch the trailer is even more fun than watching the trailer itself.
Updated video since the version I added wasn’t showing:
’90s Disney Mashup
Last but not least, you have to watch this ’90s music and Disney mashup. It’s just brilliant and I could listen to it all day long.

Avengers Interview
Are you as psyched as I am to see the new Avengers movie? Recently my friend Amiyrah attended a press event where she saw an early screening of the film and along with a group of bloggers got to interview the cast. Here you’ll find her installment with Chris Evans aka Captain America and Chris Hemsworth aka Thor. I’m pretty sure if I had been in that room I only would have been able to drool, but thankfully she’s much more professional than I am. 😉

Breast Self-Exam
One year ago this week my dear friend Amanda discovered a lump. While our group of friends assured her it would likely be nothing…it wasn’t. It was cancer. Over the last year she has battled cancer and is doing well. You can read about her story on her blog, High Impact Mom. More importantly take the time to do a self-exam (or encourage the women in your life to do so). Here’s a guide to doing a breast self-exam. And if you find something? Go to the doctor. Early prevention is key.
Saving For Disney
Disney vacations can be expensive, and even a budget-friendly trip can require serious savings. Thankfully there are some great options and ideas out there including Disney’s own vacation savings club. You can input expenses and calculate potential costs and set up a savings account. Disney will auto debit you and you’re enforced savings will lead to a great family vacation and some magical memories.

An Interview With Me
Sharon from Momof6 asked me to share how I do it all. While I don’t have all the answers I share some insight into what works for me and how I juggle working from home and a busy family life.

$5 Meal Plan
While I have my own meal plan template filling it is up to you. That’s why I recommend Erin’s $5 meal plans. They are a paid product, but so worth it when you factor in the savings. She recently released two specialty 6-week meal plans, a Slow Cooker meal plan and a Paleo meal plan. These specialty plans are available for $8 for members and $10 for non-members on $5 Dinners. If you sign up for a free trial you get it for $8 (and the free trial can be canceled at anytime, so why not give it a try? Here’s a sneak peek below.
6 Weeks of Slow Cooker Meals
For less than the cost of a hot Costco pizza, you get 36 meals designed by Erin separated into six weeks. Each week has six meals along with a shopping list to make your trip to the store a breeze. When you buy this plan, you get all six weeks, in separate PDFs, delivered at once.
It includes classic favorites like the Shredded Orange Thai Beef Tacos, Sesame Ginger Chicken, Beef Roast with Apples & Pearled Onions, and Spicy Sausage & Peppers – along with a few new ones you probably haven’t seen yet.
6 Weeks of Paleo Meals
Paleo is one of the hottest diets right now but one of the common complaints about Paleo is that it’s expensive.
This plan has 6 weeks worth of meals with 6 meals in each week. There are 5 dinner meals plus a breakfast idea, lunch idea or snack idea, on each of the weekly lists. It also includes a short list of other ideas for breakfast and snacks to spur on your creativity as you dive into a new kind of eating because the key when on a new eating plan is knowing that you have on hand, what you can eat.
Each of the meals will not be under $5, even with couponing and aggressive sales shopping, because they are all protein/veggie/fruit based but this is as budget friendly as you’re ever going to get.
