I attended my new favorite Holiday Party this year. A Sweet Swap.
It was organized by a friend who did a fabulous job of sending out invites, getting everyone to RSVP on time, and getting us to tell her what we were making.
She hosted and fed us yummy soup, bread and salad along with choice of drinks, and we all got a chance to taste all the sweets.

There were 10 attendees, and we all made 12 dozen (or in one case 12 packages), of our goodies. That’s 144 goodies each!
I spent Monday afternoon baking for about 3 hours. I made the favorite in our house: Ghiradelli Chocolate Chip Cookies with walnuts. I added the walnuts since my kids dislike nuts, so I knew they’d keep their hands to themselves! I also made them a non- walnut batch since they were nice to each other while I baked.
I came home with a sugar high, and a (reusable) bag full of goodies including:
- handmade marshmallows
- peanut butter fudge
- homemade vanilla extract and vanilla sugar
- chocolate-dipped apricots
- sea salt caramels
- caramel coffee drops
- no-bake oatmeal/chocolate cookies (just like mom used to make!)
- Brigadeiros
- alphabet butter cookies
I could not choose one I liked the best, they were all so good in so many different ways! I thought I would keep some for gifting to family and friends, but I think we may eat them all up.
What are your favorite holiday traditions? Do you do any sweet swaps or cookie exchanges with family or friends?
Yum!
